Silver Tree Y6’s have been beavering away all day so far…

And turning their ideas into stop motion generated game walk throughs

Kader Y2 are also bringing their ideas to life but using Scratch Jnr: fantastic – coding for a purpose

And some children who have been attending our Animex Academy sessions all year, our Ambassadors, have been with me today and visited the new Digital Life building in the University. We should be running our Academy sessions next year in there next year…want to join us with your children? I’d show you what they are up to right now but photos in the building where they make Minecraft (yes actual Minecraft) are not allowed…#behindthescenestour

Ooh, some have just got back from Double 11…had an amazing visit apparently…and is that ‘merch’ I see……

Although Breckon Hill have some ambassadors here today, the children back in school are still getting stuck in. Some of the game sare focussed on Captain Cook and they are using Scratch Jnr too.

Normanby Y3 are clearly using the Top Tips to help improve their work

Whole range of activities going on across year groups at Riverdale Primary, Mrs Lilley tells me, ‘We’ve had a lovely afternoon full of creativity and collaboration! We started by planning our game designs, with each group choosing their own approach. Some of us created layouts using Lego, building detailed and imaginative worlds. Others used Scratch to design and code their games, bringing their ideas to life on screen. A few of us chose to make our characters movable using lolly sticks, crafting puppets to act out scenes and gameplay. It’s been a fantastic mix of storytelling, design, and problem-solving—everyone found a way to express their ideas in a fun and unique way! ‘

And now in from Y5 Northwood:
We have been making animated stories on Scratch today and the children have loved it!
Here are some pictures of our character designs and stories so far.
Thank you again for the opportunity!

While in Stockton: ‘In Year 5, at Whitehouse Primary, we have been working around the theme ‘Crater Lake’ which is the book we have been reading this half term. The children first designed what the box for their game would look like before discussing the themes of their game. The children then wrote simple characters descriptions for their hero and villain which we are going to AI generate and bring to life! The children have since created their own company logo and are currently creating their own online document on Seesaw to pitch to a local games company!‘
Love the purpose and audience for the task that they have built in…

Finished designs from Ramshaw Y5/6: ‘We’ve finished off our designs, from a nature game in a national park to aliens running around in space! ‘

Y3 at Croftway in Northumberland took part for the first time this year; brilliant work!

And at Normanby Y2 have ‘had a busy week ‘never been so engaged’

And back to Whitehouse and their Y3’s

And a range of work from across KS2 at Captain Cook Primary: from coding to stop motion
