Teaching about the River

National Curriculum, KS2 – Geography:

Human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water

Help yourself….

The video above introduces the importance of cargo in and out of the River Tees and showcases some of the different roles that are involved. The resources have been developed by Spark on behalf of Tees Maritime and huge thanks go to all of the organisations featured. Spark is delivering 2 hour sessions in schools based on these resources but with bells and whistles as you’d expect!

  • programme your ‘robot’ vessel down the river
  • build a crane to unload your vessel
  • plan your train route to your warehouse

You can use the resources below for yourself or if you would like us to come into school, please get in touch: andrew@sparkteesvalley.com
