What a fantastic session we had yesterday with 8 of our Power of Women Schools at Wellington Square. The fabulous Kate McQuade is part of the management team at Knight Frank, who run the shopping centre in Stockton, and she organised an incredibly engaging event for our 38 Ambassadors.

From visiting different businesses and chatting with staff (Thank you Katie’s Cards, Barclays and Hays Travel) to buying their own ‘treat’ in the Bluecorn Bakery; we wanted the children to open their eyes wider and look beyond what may seem everyday. What does a job there look like? What would you actually do? What sort of skills would work well in that role? It all built perfectly on the work we did on the first Development Day looking at children’s own skills and the opportunities on the wider world around them.

Inspired by their visit they then worked with the centre management team to think about their own retail units: what would it sell? Who would be the target audience? How could they make it stand out?

Thank you again to all involved, and especially Kate, for going the extra mile to make it a brilliant experience.

We think the pictures below say it all.
