One of the biggest supporters of POW over the years has been Tracerco. Each year they offer an inspiration day for the Ambassadors. Demand was so high this year that they even offered to run it twice! The focus of the day has been on engineering, working safely and effective teamwork. The children have taken part in challenges and experiments and met a huge range of different members of the team. As anyone who follows our work knows, the ‘careers’ element of these projects is secondary to self development; growing confidence and awareness of what the children are capable of. That is what makes the difference.
They’ve been treated as honoured guests and given the opportunity to network and engage with so many different roles. Couple that with access into real work places and it is exactly the sort of experience that we want for all children. The evidence shows what the long term improved outcomes can look like.
