Who says you’re too young to dream big? Yesterday at Mowden Primary School, our Year 2 pupils proved that age is just a number when it comes to ambition. We traded the traditional school day for a day of hands-on exploration, giving 60 mini-professionals a VIP pass to the world of work.

Our journey kicked off right here at home. After mastering the geography and landmarks of the Tees Valley, the children got a behind-the-scenes look at the local digital sector.

The highlight? Meeting our new “colleagues”—a fleet of little blue robots! The children jumped into a world of coding, successfully programming their robotic buddies to perform dinosaur impressions and silly dances. It wasn’t just play; it was a first-class lesson in logic and digital literacy.

The learning didn’t slow down for a second in the afternoon! We shifted our focus to the medical sector and the innovative world of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), giving the children an invaluable front-row seat to the diverse and exciting career paths these industries offer.

With the stethoscopes removed and the robots are tucked away, one thing is certain: the future looks incredibly bright for the pupils at Mowden Primary. They aren’t just learning for exams; they are preparing for greatness in life!
