Early start last week meeting a man about a boat. Well, the fabulous Tom from Jalna Construction had offered to pick me up on a bright and sunny morning to film a journey down the River Tees from Yarm to the Gare so I wasn’t going to say no was I? Last year I created a trial film from the Newport Bridge to the Gare thanks to PD Ports. What I learned from using that film was how powerful it could be as a narrative thread, holding together a lot of the individual projects and resources that I had created to help pupil development of Cultural Capital.
And the film?
Well you will have to wait and see the result because interesting as the scenery might be, the strength of the resource is how it is annotated, edited and manipulated to give children in the Tees Valley much better awareness of what possibilities are on their doorstep.
